Application instructions

  • Use only the selected Hydro One pH product — do not substitute another brand.
  • Add only the suggested first-treatment quantity initially.
  • Keep pH products separate from chlorine and all other pool chemicals — never mix them together.
  • Ensure adequate circulation while dosing and afterwards.
  • Monitor and re-test over 24–48 hours before adding any remaining quantity.
  • Do not add the remaining theoretical quantity automatically — reassess after re-testing.
  • Contact Hydro One Pool Support for extreme readings, unusual dose quantities, or uncertain results.

Key Information

  • Hydro One pH Raiser is used when your current pH is below your target.
  • Hydro One pH Reducer is used when your current pH is above your target.
  • Recommended operating band: pH 7.2–7.6, with a default target of 7.4.
  • Staged dosing: only the first 50% of the estimated full dose is recommended initially, to reduce the risk of overshooting.
  • Total alkalinity strongly affects pH response. Readings below 60 ppm or above 180 ppm reduce the reliability of the estimate.
  • Extreme readings (below pH 6.8 or above pH 8.2) should be verified and reviewed with Hydro One Pool Support before dosing.
